Convention Centre Expansion

Vancouver's present convention centre and cruise ship facility were built to coincide with the opening of EXPO86. Since then, growth in tourism and awareness of Vancouver as an attractive convention destination, has left the original facilities unable to cope with the demand. A new additional facility is in the process of being developed just west of the existing one. It is being built on existing land as well as on an expansion of land into what is now water.

The images contained in this collection will be added to on a regular basis to record the progress of the project which is expected to be completed shortly before the opening of the 2010 Olympics.
