Coal Harbour
Vancouver
British Columbia - CANADA
20 years of changes
The land area known as Coal Harbour has undergone a dramatic transformation since the middle 1980's. Originally this location was home to railway yards servicing boxcars and container cars, large parking lots and light marine industry.
No indicators are left of activities from this period, replaced by spectacular architecture, shoreline promenades, parks, green spaces and public art installations.
The following photographs provide an opportunity to remind ourselves of the true extent of the changes. Enjoy this stroll into the recent past.

In the middle 1980's you could be close to the Bayshore Resort
and see the following to the east. Please note Canada Place
in the background. In the 1994 aerial above the railway tracks
have already been cleared.
