Shows how dreams have been revered as therapeutic tools, religious revelations, creativity catalysts, sexual symbols, medical miracles, instrospective insights, and meaningful memories, or just dismissed as biological blips and even feared as signs of demonic damnation.

Roger Williams stumbles through adolescence with the aid of a few friends and his love for the automobile. At the end of college he hits the road to the West Coast in a rolled and tucked, convertible Pontiac, along route 66, over the Sierras to Berkeley for graduate school in 1963. At Berkeley he meets Ginny Wyant a Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University. In the explosive environment of Berkeley in the 60s Roger and Ginny fall in love and move in together. In revolutionary times Roger and Ginny decide to drop out and join the gypsy life. Roger becomes a shade-tree mechanic for artists, musicians, and drug dealers. The parties, the concerts, the riots, the drugs, and the attempts to create a sustainable life outside the mad house of the Vietnam War culture that Roger and Ginny participate in are legendary. After a few years Ginny decides to return to school and complete her PhD in psychology. In 1970 Roger and Ginny have a daughter. The family sustains them through the brutal 70s. By the end of the seventies the war is over, the movement for social change is dead, and the move the to the political right begins. Roger and Ginny move into the next revolution in Silicon Valley. Ginny, who has gotten her degree, gets a job at a psychiatric ward. Roger and Ginny change gender roles. Roger becomes the President of the Mother's Club, rebuilds the house they have been able to buy, and has time to sum up the utopian 60s.

Slim is a homeless old timer who still loves life. He lies helpless under an apple tree when he notices a young man sitting next to him. The stranger has an air of joy and purity about him that accompanies an off season scent of apple blossoms. This peculiar fellow with no name has no recollection of his identity or the world around him. So Slim tells him to pick a name and after giving him a few tips sends him off pointing out that in this life "you have to be somebody." Birth from her mother womb as the mouth piece for God, evolved the anointed infallible, woman of God, Prophetess Antoinette M. White. As God molded her in His hands, He purposed her for His works and for His people. From the cradle to the pulpit this Prophetess was destined to bring forth the word of God with the anointing and power. Hearing the call in her tender years, Antoinette began her ministry with a Yes Lord, her am I, and sojourns her call in the path of ministerial greatness. With an ear to hear His voice, and her affections toward heavenly matters, this Prophetess is unmovable and unstoppable on her mission. In her childhood years it was evident Antoinette was a gifted child; peculiar, anointed and called to ministry. As the gift of prophecy manifested through her voice, and prophetic dreams became perceptible through full materialization, the mantel as Gods Prophetess was apparent. Prophetess White is the wife of the powerful Apostle Michael S. White Jr. and mother of six children. These two anointed vessels established Remnant Apostolic Prophetic Outreach (wwwrapoutreach.org).

PEN / ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing (2015 LONGLIST) “[P]erversely entertaining... In a truly intoxicating read that was hard to put down, Matt Higgins has managed to make real a world about as far removed from daily life as it gets.” --Daily Beast "Matt Higgins cracks open this astonishingly dangerous sport and captures the spectacular adrenaline surges it delivers."--The Wall Street Journal "[R]iveting... a must-read. A highflying, electrifying story." --Kirkus (STARRED) A heart-stopping narrative of risk and courage, Bird Dream tells the story of the remarkable men and women who pioneered the latest advances in aerial exploration—from skydiving to BASE jumping to wingsuit flying—and made history with their daring. By the end of the twentieth century BASE jumping was the most dangerous of all the extreme sports, with thrill-seeking jumpers parachuting from bridges, mountains, radio towers, and even skyscrapers. Despite numerous fatalities and legal skirmishes, BASE jumpers like Jeb Corliss of California thought they had discovered the ultimate rush. But all this changed for Corliss in 1999, when, high in the mountains of northern Italy, he and other jumpers watched in wonder as a stranger—wearing a cunning new jumpsuit featuring “wings” between the arms and legs—leaped from a ledge and then actually flew from the vertiginous cliffs. Drawing on intimate access to Corliss and other top pilots from around the globe,Bird Dream tracks the evolution of the wingsuit movement through the larger than life characters who, in an age of viral video, forced the sport onto the world stage. Their exploits—which entranced millions of fans along the way—defied imagination. They were flying; not like the Wright brothers, but the way we do in our dreams. Some dared to dream of going further yet, to a day when a wingsuit pilot might fly, and land, all without a parachute. A growing number of wingsuit pilots began plotting ways in which a human being might leap from the sky and land. A half dozen groups around the world were dedicated to this quest for a “wingsuit landing,” conjuring the pursuit of nations that once inspired the race to first summit Everest. Given his fame as a stuntman, the brash, publicity-hungry Corliss remained the popular favorite to claim the first landing. Yet Bird Dream also tracks the path of another man, Gary Connery—a forty-two-year-old Englishman—who was quietly plotting to beat Corliss at his own game. Accompanied by an international cast of wingsuit devotees—including a Finnish magician, a parachute tester from Brazil, an Australian computer programmer, a gruff hang-gliding champion-turned-aeronautical engineer, a French skydiving champion, and a South African costume designer—Corliss and Connery raced to leap into the unknown, a contest that would lead to triumph for one and nearly cost the other his life. Based on five years of firsthand reporting and original interviews, Bird Dream is the work of journalist Matt Higgins, who traveled the world alongside these extraordinary men and women as they jumped and flew in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Offering a behind-the-scenes take on some of the most spectacular and disastrous events of the wingsuit movement, Higgins’s Bird Dream is a riveting, adrenaline-fueled adventure at the very edge of human experience.

Joshua Livingstone is an everyday guy whose ordinary life is changed when he meets his dream girl, Helen Keane. As crazy dreams permeate his life, he discovers that what he does in his dreams affects reality. He knows he's in trouble when people start to die, and the world around him spins out of control. That's because Hector Schmidt, known as 'The Dream Doctor', can also change history through dreams. And he is not merely a misunderstood mastermind; he is psychopathically unhinged and extremely vindictive. As the two dream walkers grow aware of each other in the realms of sub reality, they become entwined in an ever-tightening infinity loop crossing between dreams and reality from which only one of them can survive. When Josh faces his destruction at the hands of Hector's unbelievable dream-powers, he finally comprehends the mechanics of dream walking and fights back to save himself and the woman he loves. "A wise and intelligent entry into fiction from a new author. Mike has created a paradox that is believable and enjoyable to journey into and follow the character's adventure...great first novel and a good read..." John, Indiebook Reviewer
