Open Educational Resources (OERs) are increasingly being promoted by enthusiasts in the field of education as a solution to the challenges of access, quality and cost of digital content worldwide. The National Policy on Information and Communication Technology by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (2012), in its policy goals discusses about creating an environment for collaboration, cooperation, sharing and promoting universal, equitable, open and free access to ICT. The most important aspect of openness is the free availability of resource over the Internet, and recurrence of as few as possible restrictions, in the form of licensing activity, on the use of resource by the users. Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has launched National Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER), which is a digital repository of open educational resources offering resources for all school subjects and grades in multiple languages. The resources are available in the form of concept maps, videos, multimedia, interactive objects, audio clips, talking books, photographs, diagrams and charts, articles, lesson plans and textbook pages. This research paper provides a glimpse to the NROER with special reference to the subject of Science with special emphasis on Physics content of Elementary and Secondary school level. It is an attempt to provide an overview to the complete methodology of development of Science content in the form of concepts, concept maps and multiple resources on the NROER, including the suggestive use of NROER by the Teachers, Teacher educators, Pupil teachers and students.

In a turbulent, unstable era of severe financial pressures, the development of strategic human resource (HR) practices has become an urgent mandate in higher education. With significant and widespread institutional shifts resulting from globalization, heightened competition, and rapid innovation, educational leaders must optimize their most significant resource—human capital—and align HR strategies, structures, and processes with organizational goals. Due to substantial cuts in state appropriations and rapidly diminishing budgets, public institutions of higher education in particular are struggling to realign resources and programs to fulfill their educational missions and maintain academic quality, while simultaneously responding to complex external legislative and accreditation mandates. In light of these challenges, Creating a Tipping Point: Strategic Human Resources in Higher Education breaks new ground by presenting a research-based approach that supports the evolution of HR practices from siloed, transactional models to strategic operations that serve the entire university. This monograph provides a concrete, progressive road map to developing organizational capabilities in support of the university's academic mission and illustrates this pathway with examples drawn from public research universities. It offers strategies, tools, metrics, and action steps that support the development of an effective and efficient strategic HR operation in higher education. For institutions seeking to implement strategic HR, this book is a practical and invaluable resource.

Through research and consultation, Statistics Canada was asked to investigate the availability of data to measure the infrastructure of health programs in educational institutions and the flow of individuals through these programs and into health occupations. This document marks the first stage in this project. Based upon nation-wide consultations, it lays out a conceptual framework and outlines a set of questions about health education, the individuals pursuing health education, the flow of individuals through health education, and the factors which affect that flow. The outline will enable the identification of information that is needed to support efficient and effective decisions and policies about health education programs and health human resources management.

In this book you will find helpful Dance Education resources that will guide you through a successful year of teaching. When we, Dance Educators, begin our school year we are told to follow state standards, however no curriculum is supplied that meets the needs of each level of classes. Instead, we are asked to create our own curriculum, our own syllabus, decorate our class, create lessons and much, much more. Ultimately, an administrator evaluates us to see if these items are successfully accomplished and meet the state standards. Meanwhile, we have a million other things to think about. What lessons do I teach my students? In what order do I teach those lessons? What is the best history lesson to teach? Which vocabulary terms do I teach? What are my classroom expectations? What are the best performance tips to give my students? What wall décor do I hang on my classroom walls? Which rubrics do I use to assess my students? What is the best audition document? What choreography lessons should I use? What do I need to do before the show? The list goes on and on. This book offers you a variety of resources to choose from that would best fit your method of teaching. It is primarily for the middle school and high school dance teachers at public and private schools. You will receive an abundance of helpful ideas and lessons. You can choose to implement one idea or lesson at a time and then eventually continue to add other ideas into your plans as the years continue. With age-appropriate, inquiry-centered curriculum materials and sound teaching practices, middle school science can capture the interest and energy of adolescent students and expand their understanding of the world around them. Resources for Teaching Middle School Science, developed by the National Science Resources Center (NSRC), is a valuable tool for identifying and selecting effective science curriculum materials that will engage students in grades 6 through 8. The volume describes more than 400 curriculum titles that are aligned with the National Science Education Standards. This completely new guide follows on the success of Resources for Teaching Elementary School Science, the first in the NSRC series of annotated guides to hands-on, inquiry-centered curriculum materials and other resources for science teachers. The curriculum materials in the new guide are grouped in five chapters by scientific area--Physical Science, Life Science, Environmental Science, Earth and Space Science, and Multidisciplinary and Applied Science. They are also grouped by type--core materials, supplementary units, and science activity books. Each annotation of curriculum material includes a recommended grade level, a description of the activities involved and of what students can be expected to learn, a list of accompanying materials, a reading level, and ordering information. The curriculum materials included in this book were selected by panels of teachers and scientists using evaluation criteria developed for the guide. The criteria reflect and incorporate goals and principles of the National Science Education Standards. The annotations designate the specific content standards on which these curriculum pieces focus. In addition to the curriculum chapters, the guide contains six chapters of diverse resources that are directly relevant to middle school science. Among these is a chapter on educational software and multimedia programs, chapters on books about science and teaching, directories and guides to science trade books, and periodicals for teachers and students. Another section features institutional resources. One chapter lists about 600 science centers, museums, and zoos where teachers can take middle school students for interactive science experiences. Another chapter describes nearly 140 professional associations and U.S. government agencies that offer resources and assistance. Authoritative, extensive, and thoroughly indexed--and the only guide of its kind--Resources for Teaching Middle School Science will be the most used book on the shelf for science teachers, school administrators, teacher trainers, science curriculum specialists, advocates of hands-on science teaching, and concerned parents.
