The purpose of this book is simple. It is to tell the truth about GOD. Learning the truth about GOD is the result of Mr. Peterson's discovery of the meaning and purpose of his life. It was discovered as a direct result of his need to learn it following his daughter's death in August of 1980. He discovered that the purpose and course of his life is determined in the same manner as yours. It matters not who you are or what your particular circumstance is. It doesn't matter if you have lost a child to death. It doesn't even matter if you have children. It matters not if you are a murderer or a saint; gay or straight; male or female; first world citizen or jungle savage; plant or animal. The purpose for living is the same for all living things. A rather intriguing claim isn't it? If one has experienced the death of a child Mr. Peterson's experience is not different from one's own in any important way. But the story of how he came about his particular experience probably is. Mr. Peterson says that his friends comprise a very special society of humans, they are parents of children who died before they did; it is-not supposed to happen that way. But because they did lose a child to death he says they are experts in the field of pain and grieving. They are not proud of the knowledge they have gained but they realize they have gained knowledge of what life is and how it actually operates that can be achieved in no other way. They have experienced the very worst pain a human-being can experience - and remain alive. Mr. Peterson uses his unique experience to guide his readers through a complex series of intellectual challenges with the ease of a master sculptor.

Every year twelve million Americans are arrested and photographed by the police. In many ways, mug shots are our history. Using a dazzling selection of mug shots that are arrestingly raw in their starkness and strangely eloquent in their simplicity, this absorbing, humorous, often bewildering collection sheds a whole new light on our rebellious century. From political icons Martin Luther King Jr.and Angela Davis, to A-list celebrities Hugh Grant and 50 Cent, from killer Ted Kaczynski to the actor who aided in Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, from prisoners of Auschwitz to a bearded Saddam Hussein, all of them declare a simple truth: The last 150 years told through police photography is truly an alternative history. Author Giacomo Papi’s brisk and insightful commentary enlightens us with intriguing backstories and little-known facts. A feast for the eyes and the mind, Booked presents an ingenious and utterly unique snapshot of our times.

This new novella from Lily Menon, author of Make Up Break Up, is sure to get readers in the holiday spirit. Novelist Sophia Hart (real name: Sophie Bartholomew-Kaur-Hughes, but try fitting that on a book cover) absolutely hates her loudest critic—Evan Wolfe, evil mastermind behind the Lone Wolfe book review column. They've never met, but Wolfe's favorite pastime seems to be dumping on Sophie's unapologetically happy, magical romances. Sophie, not one to be left behind, gets her revenge in her own ways (never annoy a writer in search of a villain). When Sophie decides to throw a holiday party at her cabin, Wolfe is the last person on her mind. But the universe has a twisted sense of humor. Not only does Wolfe show up as someone’s plus one, but a massive snowstorm blows in, stranding them both alone together in Sophie’s cabin. Over the next few days, Sophie begins to realize that Wolfe isn’t as odiously cynical a man as she’d originally thought. In fact, he’s kind of...sweet. And impossibly hot. But still, Sophie’s been hurt before and she has so much to lose. What she needs is one sure sign that she and Wolfe are meant to be together. Will Sophie and Wolfe get their Christmas miracle?

Charlotte is shocked to discover that the book dealer suspected Isabella of being a thief who founded Chapters on her ill-gotten gains. Charlotte has successfully learned the B&B business in a year, but nothing has prepared her to handle a death on the premises. Armed with intelligence and courage and assisted by her vibrant older neighbor, a visiting author, and members of a local book club, Charlotte is determined to prove her innocence and to clear her great-aunt's name. But the murderer is still at large, and equally determined to silence anyone who might discover the truth behind the book dealer's death. Now, Charlotte must outwit an unknown killer--or end up writing her own final chapter.
