Clarence Larkin was a famous Baptist pastor during the late 1800s and early 1900s. As a Bible teacher and author, he is mostly known for his works on Dispensationalism, which considers biblical history, as well as the future of all creation and mankind's role on earth, as divided into "ages." (Within this context, "ages" are specific periods of time that God has set in motion that will ultimately reach their climatic end at the Great White Throne judgment-the moment when God will judge everybody that has ever lived according to their works, followed by their destiny in Heaven or Hell.) Larkin's books, charts, and wood cuts greatly influenced Protestant conservatives in early America as well as Church evangelism throughout the twentieth century.Larkin was born in 1850 and became a Christian at the age of nineteen. He later joined the Episcopal Church but eventually left that denomination to become a Baptist pastor. He espoused many ideas from premillennialist theology, which was rapidly growing in popularity among early evangelicals at the time, drawn from major prophetic concepts shared by C.I. Scofield, William Eugene Blackstone, and John Nelson Darby. Larkin created original, detailed, prophetical wall charts to use while teaching his convictions around these ideas from the pulpit. This unique approach quickly became so popular that articles based on his teachings were published in the Sunday School Times, and soon, invitations for him to explain his ideas involving eschatology-the future and end-times prophecy-began coming in from across America and around the world.Starting in 1918, he published his first masterpiece, Dispensational Truth (or God's Plan and Purpose in the Ages), but high demand for his works quickly resulted in the additional titles, Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth and The Book of Daniel. The brilliance of these books now constitute this first-ever single volume: DISPENSATIONS: The Clarence Larking Collection.

Those Days was chosen for my book title because it describes in vivid detail what happens during the days of those left here on earth when the Church has been taken to heaven. It will be 2,520 days of God's increasing wrath poured out on man "such as has not been since the beginning of creation . . . and unless the Lord had shortened "those days," no flesh would be saved" (Mark 13:19""20).

Clarence Larkin's examination of The Book of Revelation stands as one of the most detailed commentaries ever created, made unique by the large tables and illustrations. As with his other intensive examinations, Clarence Larkin sets out to clarify the many mysterious chapters and verses for the benefit of Christians seeking greater insight and knowledge of the holy text. Using his own system of organization, Larkin dispenses the various messages and meanings behind the Book of Revelation clearly. Throughout this superb work of Bible study, all explanations and assertions are supported by quotations of the scripture. The principle lessons and stories of Revelation each receive scrutiny, while the various Sevens - the Seven Dooms, Seven Personages, Seven Last Plagues, and so on, are explained in enlightening and authoritative detail. The culmination of more than twenty-five years of study, it is no exaggeration to say that Larkin's explanations of The Book of Revelation contain a life's work. Popular among Christians when first published in 1919, Larkin's detailed texts retain a devoted following to this day, while some of his greatest works were posthumously published in the late 1920s.

In The Spirit World, Clarence Larkin explains the various elements of the spiritual world of Christianity; including demons; the underworld; resurrection; and man's relationship to the spirits. Unafraid to tackle topics often ignored or relegated to the barest mention by other theologians, in ‘The Spirit World’, Clarence Larkin delves deeply into the topics such as hell, Satan and demonic manifestations. His accessible style is made further comprehensible by the myriad drawings and charts, which visually portray concepts which first appeared in the Bible. For decades in his role as a preacher and theologian, Larkin immersed himself in the depths of Biblical lore. His studies ranged from explaining obscure or cryptic books of the Bible, to clarifying the manifestations of spirits good and evil, and how these corporeal beings interact with one another and with humans. The machinations behind phenomena such as resurrection, fallen angels and the journey of the soul to the afterlife are topics which Larkin explains.

This superb and time-tested analysis and study by Clarence Larkin examines in detail, and explains with the truest clarity, the Biblical Book of Daniel. Having spent his life in service of God as a minister, and much of his time deeply vested in contemplation and study of the Biblical canon, Clarence Larkin placed himself in a prime position to evaluate and explain some of the more complex passages of the scripture. Naturally blessed with a readable and flowing style of writing, Larkin enlightened countless thousands of Christians during his lengthy career. In this book, we receive a passage-by-passage, line-by-line examination of the Book of Daniel. No detail or phrase is passed over, and the reader may be assured that Larkin pays the closest attention in explaining this important yet difficult to understand part of the Holy Bible. Larkin was moved to author this and several other books after receiving word from his flock and fellow believers of the difficulties they had reading and interpreting such texts. The chapters are divided into the major episodes underpinning the Book of Daniel. Events such as the dream of Nebuchadnezzer and the calamitous Fall of Babylon receive close narration, while the famous image of Daniel in the Lion's Den benefits greatly from the clarifying commentary of Larkin. This edition of Larkin's Book of Daniel includes all of the intricate charts and illustrations for which the author became famous. Several of these are very large and detailed images with large, small and tiny instances of text, and it is doubtless necessary to use a magnifying glass to fully scrutinize them. Vital to Larkin's explanations, they set out visually the principles that this book exists to clarify for the reader.

This edition of The Second Coming of Christ is complete with the charts for which the author was famous, together with his other original illustrations. A devotional classic of the early 20th century, this book contains Larkin's investigations of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Based on his studies, Larkin concluded that the Second Coming was impending and that the events in Christianity hitherto - including the First Coming of Christ in Israel - happened in preparation for this great event. Larkin supports his thesis with a close analysis of Biblical scripture and other sources, which he supplements with a series of illustrations and charts which pictorially demonstrate the validity of his arguments. Various recurring themes in Christianity, such as the conflict between the church and the Kingdom of God, and the natural of the spiritual world from which Christ will return, are discussed. Clarence Larkin was a preacher and theologian who wrote a number of books which sought to explain the more obscure or mystical elements of the Holy Bible. His investigations were exhaustive, with every sentence and passage analyzed, explained and clarified for the lay Christian audience. Most notable of all is Larkin's profound influence upon visual representations of the Bible: his self-penned charts, often large in size and intricate, were printed and circulated separately from the books in which they had been appended. As The Second Coming of Christ is one of Larkin's shorter works, it may be used as an introduction both to his style of writing, and to his unique use of charts. Readers should note that as many of the charts are very large, the small print may require use of a magnifying glass to fully absorb the annotations.

Spiritual warfare is not a game, and the devil is not an innocent puppy. He is the master deceiver, thief, and murderer, and the force behind nearly all evil. He is full of all kinds of cruelty, pain, curses, and blight known to the human family. To survive his attacks, you must realize that the devil is a real enemy, hell-bent on destroying you. I challenge you to get serious today about determining methods to rebuke him and keep him from hindering your service to the Lord. Where did Satan come from? Did God create the Devil? Is God responsible for evil? Such questions plague the individual who wrestles with the existence of our adversary in the light of the Bible’s revelation of the holiness of God. Philosophy can never give a satisfactory answer to these questions. The only satisfying answer is God’s answer, found in his Word. If we are going to combat this enemy known as “Satan,” then we must know his motives and his methods. Our goal in this book is to resolve this and answer many other questions as we talk about every believer’s responsibility in spiritual warfare.

Death is inescapable for us all, but in that death, we may also have the hope of something wonderful and greater than what we have experienced here on Earth. Our Spiritual Destiny: Death and the Hereafter explores what the Bible has to say about • Why people die, and what is promised to us beyond the grave • Example from the Old Testament and what the Bible declared as the fate of Old Testament saints • How Jesus described the hereafter • The promises for eternal fellowship with Christ found in the New Testament • A description of activities in heaven during coming events on Earth • The resurrection of the dead and promised reward and punishment • A description of eternity future God has many promises for those who trust Him by faith for a better life beyond the grave. This is why the apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Thessalonian church: "But I would not have you be ignorant, brethren, concerning them that are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope" (1 Thessalonians 4:13).

Finally, a book which simplistically, insightfully and systematically presents an integrated, concrete overview of the 22 chapters, or 404 verses, of the book of Revelation. "Revelation Unsealed" is unique in a number of major areas. It is the first book to approach the text of Revelation from what is termed the Pre-Wrath Rapture perspective. This is the hotly debated view that the church will enter the Seventieth Week, undergo the great tribulation of the Antichrist, and be gathered off the earth before the wrath of God unfolds. This view is presented in a logical scenario, which is then placed within the overall context of the Apocalypse. Also contained is an entirely fresh biblical perspective of the emergence of the Antichrist. Additionally, this book also fully covers the relevance of world events, the amazing track record of biblical prophecy, the fulfillment of the seven religious feast of Israel, the battle of Armageddon, and the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ. All of these issues are addressed in a concise and simple manner with numerous charts and illustrations to aid the reader in easily conceptualizing and visualizing what is outlined. Its contents will challenge both the newest Christian and the seasoned biblical scholar.

An “exhilirating” novel of domestic terrorism in the gritty streets of 1980s New York from the National Book Award–finalist and author of Straight Cut (The New Yorker). As a staff photographer at Bellevue hospital in Manhattan, Clarence Dmitri Larkin is exposed to the fraying underbelly of New York City. Drawn in by the stories of the sick, the lost, and the insane, Larkin’s own dark impulses lead him through the streets of Brooklyn’s shadowy warehouse district. Increasingly isolated from the world around him, Larkin falls in with a disturbed cell of outcasts. Their ringleader, empowered by confused visions of grandeur and revolution, launches an outlandish scheme to plant an atomic bomb in the catacombs under Times Square. Narrated with unsettling plausibility, Bell’s debut novel demonstrates the remarkable literary skill celebrated in his later novels, such as Soldier’s Joy and The Year of Silence. With “real brilliance . . . full of fire . . . Bell provides promise: promise of his own talent and promise that young American writers are not all retreating from ‘big’ subjects” (The New York Times). “Every sentence [Bell] writes is a joy. His power is exhilarating.” —The New Yorker
