We all know the headiness and excitement of the early days of love. But what comes after? In Edinburgh, a couple, Rabih and Kirsten, fall in love. They get married, they have children but no long-term relationship is as simple as happily ever after. "The Course of Love" is a novel that explores what happens after the birth of love, what it takes to maintain love, and what happens to our original ideals under the pressures of an average existence.

The Age of Aquarius has dawned upon man. This book is a testament of the new age to herald the Arc of the Covenant -- The Dream. This is the Promised Land. It is the Law written in the heart of man. We were meant to awaken to a greater multi-dimensional awareness in which our spirit is free. It is a known fact that everyone dreams every night. How can one then awaken without a dream? The process of awakening begins with a dream. The revelation of our true potential has been staring us in the face night after night and we have dismissed it as idle ramblings of the mind. For me, the process began with a series of precognitive dreams culminating in a miracle wheat penny that would set me firmly on the path of illumination guided by my dreams; my inner voice. As external confirmation, the universe in synchronous fashion placed pennies on my path at precisely the right place and time to coincide with the magical "ah ha" experiences that come from working with dreams. Here is how it happened to me.

Shows that a religious understanding of illness and health persisted well into post-Enlightenment early America The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the power of narrative during times of sickness and disease. As Americans strive to find meaning amid upheaval and loss, some consider the nature of God’s will. Early American Protestants experienced similar struggles as they attempted to interpret the diseases of their time. In this groundbreaking work, Philippa Koch explores the doctrine of providence—a belief in a divine plan for the world—and its manifestations in eighteenth-century America, from its origins as a consoling response to sickness to how it informed the practices of Protestant activity in the Atlantic world. Drawing on pastoral manuals, manuscript memoirs, journals, and letters, as well as medical treatises, epidemic narratives, and midwifery manuals, Koch shows how Protestant teachings around providence shaped the lives of believers even as the Enlightenment seemed to portend a more secular approach to the world and the human body. Their commitment to providence prompted, in fact, early Americans’ active engagement with the medical developments of their time, encouraging them to see modern science and medicine as divinely bestowed missionary tools for helping others. Indeed, the book shows that the ways in which the colonial world thought about questions of God’s will in sickness and health help to illuminate the continuing power of Protestant ideas and practices in American society today.

The author’s book, Degrees of Love and Forgiveness, demonstrates that God’s love and forgiveness are offered in various degrees, capacities, and strata. Specifically, God’s love is shown to be both conditional and unconditional, volitional yet emotional, infinite although finite. Advanced implications are considered. For example, If God loves everyone infinitely, why does He cast some into Hell? Since typical appeals to freewill responses fail to explain why God would allow sin and suffering, what other answers might be deemed superior? The discussion in the book is far from being merely theoretical, however. Practical ramifications are explored in the fields of Christian victory (nikology), spiritual warfare (polemology), and rewards (misthology). Implications for Christian counseling for those struggling with rejection are integrated throughout the book.

Unruly, unpredictable, love is a maddening deity. In this insightful and eloquent meditation on that many-splendored thing, Lisa Appignanesi draws on history, philosophy, psychology, literature, popular culture, and her own experience in order to tangle with love's paradoxes through the span of our lives. Beginning with the rose-tinted raptures of first love, she proceeds to love in marriage, the passions of triangulated love, jealousy and adultery, love in the family, and friendship, illuminating the expectations, the joys and difficulties that accompany each stage.
